Case Management Notes:

David Kelleher is a luminary of the Narooma Returned and Services League Sub Branch (RSL). He participates in commemorative ceremonies representing RSL executives, whilst wearing a "Tin" medal, in full view of all members of that RSL.

None of his Defence Operational deployments with the RAN or the RNZN involved overseas warlike service. Here is what he wears.

Australian Service Medal (ASM) - Overseas deployment non warlike
Australian Defence Medal (ADM) - For completing four years service in RAN
Far East Strategic Reserve Medal - Self purchased "Tin"
New Zealand (NZ) Defence Service Medal (NZDSM). For service with RNZN

This is the "Tin" FESR medal. It is self purchased from Medals dealers.

Those with FESR service wear a Clasp on their ASM, not a self purchased tin medal

It is relevant, that in the late 1970s, after Kelleher's service with the RAN, he was accepted into the RNZN as a Commissioned Officer. He is now on deck with another ex RAN commissioned officer who wore "tin" It is incongruous that retired commissioned officers should deign to wear false medals. Lord Nelson would turn in his Brandy barrel.

The Narooma RSL is a "hotspot" for "Tin" medals. Another ex Sailor from the Narooma RSL, Mr Lynn Orford, was also recently exposed for wearing them.

As long as people wear false medals, and as long as the RSL condones this behaviour, we will publish details of those involved. In this case it is:

The wearer, David Kelleher
The condoner, Narooma RSL

It is simple. Wear "tin" medals and you will feature on this website.
